On July 1, 2014, the Canadian government’s anti-spam legislation came into force. The CBWC encourages all churches within our community to ensure they are in compliance with this legislation.
The law only applies to commercial electronic messages (CEM), like emails. The good news is that this means most churches WILL NOT be impacted by the law. Churches that never send commercial emails do not need to make any changes to how or to whom they distribute emails.
Only those churches that include commercial content in their emails need to adapt their email etiquette to conform to the new law.
