Privacy

Churches should do everything they can to protect the privacy of members of their congregations. It’s a best practice. In British Columbia, it is the law.

Churches aren’t governed by the same privacy protection laws as for-profit organizations, except in British Columbia. Yet protecting the privacy of congregation members is a best practice to strive for.

Because many churches have found it difficult to sort through the implications of federal, provincial and/or territorial laws around privacy, the CBWC has created some privacy resources to make it easier for churches to explain privacy legislation and its implications.
