The anticipation of Advent is upon us as we wait in expectation for God’s redeeming love to enter our world. During this season, we consciously make room, we actively wait. To help, the Canadian Baptists has once again prepared an Advent Reader in collaboration with the sister denominations and Canadian Baptist Ministries. Each year, we find writers from across the Canadian Baptist family, from the east coast to the west coast and everywhere in between.
This year’s Advent reader focuses on three questions:
- Who is Christ?
- Who are we in Christ?
- What is his kingdom?
We hope you will join us on our journey toward Bethlehem this Advent season.

Thank you to the five CBWC church members contributed to this year’s reader: Eric Brooks – Pastor at Strathcona Baptist, Edmonton; Paul Stade – Pastor at First Baptist Brandon, MB and CBM board member; Anne Smith – Pastor at The Church at Southpoint, Surrey BC; Joe Welty – Pastor at Broadway-First Baptist, Winnipeg MB; and Wayne Morgan – Pastor at Prince George First Baptist, BC. Thanks also to Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec, particularly Jacqueline Solomon, who led this project again this year.
