March 13, 2013 — Callum Jones, Senior Pastor at First Baptist in Penticton, has a chapter in a new book on how Baptists relate to other Christians.
The book, entitled Interfaces: Baptists and Others is a collection of essays from the International Conference on Baptist Studies held in Melbourne, Australia in 2009. Callum’s essay is called “Western Canadian Baptists and early twentieth-century ecumenical initiatives”.
Callum, known for his deep interest in Baptist history, will soon be defending his PhD thesis entitled “The Canadian Baptists of Western Canada: Baptist Identity and Ecumenical Relationships, 1907-1986” at the London School of Theology.
Before emigrating to Canada in 2001, Callum worked in ordained ministry with the Baptist Union of Great Britain. All of his writings will be of great interest to anyone wishing to learn more about Canadian Baptists of Western Canada.
