You have heard (as I have) expressions like
“No one tells me anything…”
“I never know what’s going on…”
“I didn’t even know that (fill in the blank) even existed…”
You get the drift.
As a denomination we represent one of the widest diversities in culture, expression, geography and composition that any group in the country. To build and experience genuine Christian community we have to engage an enormous challenge. Today’s newsletter describes how we have begun to engage that challenge.
We begin at the only place we can begin; our Listening Sessions make it clear that our communication “begins by listening to God and one another as we determine what we are to live into as Christians.”
Some of the rest:
- Our Area newsletters and Reports
- Steve Fisher has designed our webpage resources (buwc.ca)
- Bob Webber is working with us in all our communications work and through our name change from Baptist Union of Western Canada (BUWC) to Canadian Baptists of Western Canada (CBWC)
- I write this weekly newsletter
- Every Wednesday we publish a “fresh sheet” of resources
- The BUDF, Carey Centre, Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM), Camps and all our missional networks do excellent communications work
- Every three to four months we publish the HUB as a community meeting / information, designed and edited by Michael Gurney
- Alice Paradis runs our IT in the office, shedding light on all sorts of information
- Our Area Admins (Dawn Johannesson, Judy Hoefling and Judith Arends) and Lisa Shierman in Calgary provide navigational assistance.
There is a start…
The Lord keep you and bless you.
Warmly,
In Christ,
Jeremy Bell
