There are a myriad of administrative, organizational and financial matters that are undertaken by this family of churches each day. In a given year, David Holten and his associate, Julia Hamilton, process over 40,000 transactions. There are a whole host of other activities: pension and benefit transactions; a biennial Assembly is planned; the annual Banff Pastor’s conference unfolds; churches require resources in ministry, finance, or taxation; constitutional issues; human resources; conflict resolution; emergency funding; and record keeping from a legal or an archival point of view; to name a few.
There are in excess (perhaps on appropriate word) of 3 dozen ministry networks, board committees and administrative groups from camps to dollars; from rights of way for a telephone company to the maintenance of a long-abandoned rural cemetery. You get the idea.
Every Thursday morning from 8:30-10:00 a.m., Pacific Time, we gather in a phone conference call to pray, share, plan encourage and administrate the work of the CBWC.
The devotional and prayer responsibility rotates amongst the participants. Such is the depth of competence and leadership that the chair also rotates. There are many who have administrative functions within the CBWC. These are the ones who encourage and facilitate the work of the longer term.
Warmly
In Christ,
Jeremy
