You are warmly invited to join us in the heart of the Rockies for the Banff Pastors & Spouses Conference—four days set apart for rest, renewal, and encouragement at the beautiful Banff Park Lodge. Throughout our time, we will explore what it means to live and lead as fragile yet faithful vessels—Treasures in Jars of Clay—embracing our weaknesses, cultivating humble servant leadership, and resting in the truth that God’s strength is most clearly revealed in our dependence on Him.
Our keynote speakers include Lissa Wray Beal (Tyndale University) and Steve Brown (Columbia Bible College), with worship led by Jon Buller. Registration opens June 15, 2026. We hope you and your spouse will join us for this meaningful time of spiritual renewal, connection, and encouragement as you are freshly equipped to shepherd God’s people.

The Rev. Dr. Lissa Wray Beal lives in Toronto where she ministers as Professor of Old Testament at Wycliffe College, Toronto School of Theology. An ordained priest in the Anglican Church, she earned her PhD from the University of St. Michael’s College.
Her teaching engages the Old Testament’s enduring witness to God, and its necessary role in New Testament faith and the life of the church. In published commentaries on Kings, Joshua and Jeremiah (forthcoming), and articles on Kings, Joshua, Psalms, and Jeremiah, she attends to God’s work in a broken, suffering world. She looks forward to once again sharing with the CBWC community as they follow God's calling in their various pastoral contexts.
She and her husband Steve enjoy travelling and often feel like pilgrims as they visit cathedrals and trace the lives of the saints.

Dr. Steve Brown lives out his passion to invest in the next generation of Jesus-centered leaders as President of Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Over the last twenty-five years, Steve has invested thousands of hours coaching, teaching, and walking alongside leaders from Canada, the USA, and around the world. He served as President of Arrow Leadership for over a decade, and he’s the author of Jesus-Centered—Focusing on Jesus in a Distracted World, Leading Me—Eight Keys to a Leader’s Most Important Assignment, Great Questions for Leading Well, and his newest book, Finding Courage – A Four Week Devotional Journey was just released in September 2025.
Steve’s been married to Lea for over 25 years and is the proud dad to three young adults. Running, biking, hiking, and traveling are his longtime passions. You can reach him at presidentsoffice@columbiabc.edu.
