DIRECTOR Steve Simala-Grant
Kurios (pronounced koo’-ree-os) is the English transliteration of the Greek word for “Lord” which means master and ruler. Our purpose is to grow young Christian disciples and leaders holistically through experiential learning: scriptural, relational and practical.
The biggest decision adolescents must make is who or what will be Lord in their life. As this program is aimed at those who are already Christians, they will be challenged to make Jesus Lord of every area of their lives. Adolescents need a safe place in which to ask questions about God and life without being ignored or made to feel foolish or heretical. Our Gap Year Experience will be the perfect environment to ask those questions and seek God’s answers.
SERVE
Each summer hundreds of youth from British Columbia to Manitoba gather for a week to serve a Western-Canadian community. Past locations have included Yellowknife, Flin Flon, High River, Prince Albert, and many others. SERVE is like the best parts of summer camp combined with the best parts of a short-term service trip.
CAMPS
85% of Christians make decisions to follow Jesus between the ages of 4 and 14. We want to help your church reach one of our most crucial mission fields—Canada’s kids—through our camps.

Abuse Prevention
All of us like to think of our churches as safe places. Sadly, many predators take advantage of the trusting and open environment within a church. It is essential that every CBWC church takes active steps to prevent abuse within our congregations.
