Board Bytes

Welcome to the next edition of Board Bytes, which reports on some of the activities of the CBWC Board. Though some of the Board's work is either too mundane or sensitive to report in these newsletters, you will hear updates many times throughout the year.

The CBWC Board met in person in late April at the Calgary office amidst a formidable spring snowstorm. At that meeting, we received reports from the Executive Minister and Executive Staff. We were thrilled to hear the healthy enrollment numbers for next year's Kurios year. We also heard an extended report from the President of the CBWC-Foundation, Jamey McDonald. We spent a good amount of time discussing the major agenda items for the 2027 Assembly, though preparations will continue. This meeting was also a passing of the torch so-to-speak because it was our last scheduled meeting with Rob Ogilvie. We spent time thanking him for his work among us and prayed blessings on his future. We also had our first face-to-face interactions with our new Executive Minister, Clint Mix. We did a prayer of commissioning over him as he begins his work.

Though we have committee work and other action items over the summer, our next CBWC Board meetings will occur at the Calgary office in late September. Between now and then, we hope to see many of you as delegates of the 2026 Online Business Meeting. Our board continues to ask for your prayers as we seek to honor Christ and govern wisely.
