Board Bytes

Greetings from your Board President. The following is a small snapshot of the work of your leaders as we endeavor to serve Christ and this association of churches: 

It has been a great joy to welcome Clint Mix into his role. His pace of making introductions has been incredible—visiting over 100 pastors and numerous regions in a short time. Let us give God thanks for His provision in our new Executive Minister.  

In late May, we enjoyed our online Annual Business Meeting. Well, until my church’s internet crashed! Thankfully, service was restored and we quickly carried on with business. I am thankful that we were able to approve our usual business-related matters, as well as updates to our Ministerial Protocol Manual. A week later, I participated in a regular CBWC Foundation Board meeting. We should also give thanks for the efforts of Bill Cottrill and his fellow BC Convention trustees. Bill and others invested many hours in conversations, correspondence and preparation leading up to the annual BC Convention AGM. I am grateful that all motions passed at the BC Convention AGM, including a solid slate of nominees for the Carey Board of Administration.  

I recently participated in Carey Board meetings, and the initial contributions of their new board members were impressive! Other highlights of the Carey Board meetings included a preview of their soon-to-be launched new branding and website, and an extremely positive result of a recent workplace culture review. That review is in addition to the previous investigative report and HR policy review, all done by third party organizations. We will continue to pursue relational renewal and structural clarity between the CBWC and Carey.  

Looking ahead, a summer break from scheduled meetings allows me to catch up on other items and to lay out the groundwork for the year ahead.
