Online Business Meeting 2026 Synopsis
Present: 202
Number of Churches: 75
Number of Delegates and Pastors: 146
Many were able to join us online to celebrate the goodness and faithfulness of God as we reviewed 2025 and continue to live into all that 2026 has for us as a community of Christ-followers.
Each year, we gather either in person or online for an Annual General Meeting as required by the Charities Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency.
In our online business meetings, time together is spent centered on connecting with our family of churches using the Zoom platform to present audited financial statements, proposed budgets for future years, updates on our shared work together, and ministry partner initiatives.
Rev. Jeff Gullacher, President of the CBWC Board, welcomed all to the call, and despite some internet connection issues at the beginning, led the delegates through the various agenda items. As part of his devotional, Jeff shared a few thoughts from Philippians 1: 3-6 which says, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” He then opened in prayer.
Rev. Dr. Clint Mix was introduced as the incoming CBWC Executive Minister. He expressed what a privilege it is to serve as Executive Minister of the CBWC. Along with his wife, Carolina, they are grateful for the invitation to walk with everyone in this new season of ministry. He is drawn to the words of Moses from Exodus 33:15, “If your presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.” Moses understood that the distinguishing mark of God’s people would be God’s presence among them. Clint’s prayer is that God’s presence would guide every conversation, relationship, and opportunity. Listening to God and one another, surrendering afresh to Him, and together discerning the path He is directing us to go down.
Throughout the evening, several videos were shown that included storytelling of how our church family is living out the three priorities of Cultivating Leadership, Investing in Relationship, and Engaging in Mission. You can watch the video HERE.
Jeff led the meeting through the various agenda items including approving the CBWC 2025 Assembly minutes, CBWC financial statements, CBWC audit report, approval of the auditing firm for 2026, suggested edits to the MPM, and the CBWC Foundation financials. All motions were carried by majority vote. Rev. Dr. Colin Godwin, President of Carey Theological College, and Rev. Jamey McDonald, President of the CBWC Foundation, also brought verbal updates.
Rev. Rob Ogilvie finished off the evening with an address to the constituency and ended with the priestly blessing over all in attendance.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:00pm PST. Minutes of this Online Business Meeting will be distributed in advance of the next Assembly as per CBWC Bylaws.
Thank you to all those who attended. We look forward to gathering in person for Assembly 2027 at the Best Western Premier Conference Centre from June 3-5, 2027.
