SERVE Wetaskiwin Recap
“I want to express my gratitude for all the hard work the young women did on Tuesday. What a great group! My windows truly sparkle. I've had comments from a couple of friends. What a wonderful service you provide.” - Pat
From July 5-11, nearly 250 youth and leaders from 17 CBWC congregations gathered in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, for SERVE 2026. During the week, groups volunteered all throughout the surrounding community to demonstrate the love of Jesus through active service. Teams completed more than 70 significant projects including painting, visiting with seniors, tearing down a barn, lakeshore cleanup, serving meals at a local shelter and so much more.
“Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming an incredible group of youth and leaders from SERVE 2026 and we couldn't be more grateful for everything they accomplished. They made a tremendous impact right here. Thank you…for your time, hard work and generosity. Your efforts have made a lasting difference.” – Yeoford Hall
In the evenings, everyone gathered to worship: hearing from Scripture, singing, dancing, playing games, praying, and rejoicing in all God has done in and through us. The lives of countless youth, leaders, and community members were changed as the Holy Spirt has worked so profoundly. Even the city of Wetaskiwin government itself was impacted deeply.
“A huge thank you to the incredible SERVE volunteers for spending the past three days helping make Wetaskiwin even more beautiful! Their hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to serve have made a lasting impact. From all of us at the City of Wetaskiwin, thank you for choosing our community. We hope you’ve made some wonderful memories while leaving behind a beautiful legacy for everyone to enjoy!” – City of Wetaskiwin
SERVE was only possible because of the many incredible volunteers from our hosts: Brightview Community Church. On behalf of all the groups who attended this year, thank you for your tireless efforts and for how you modeled Christ so well throughout the week as you served us.
To God be the glory! We give You thanks for another fantastic year of SERVE-ing!
Next year SERVE will be held in Victoria, BC, from July 4-10, 2027. For more information, or to see some highlights from this year, visit cbwc.ca/serve
